2023

The year of growth, identity, and loss.

I began refining my materials and tools, slowly upgrading from cheap equipment to solid brass stamps and better gear. My work became more intentional. Runes became part of my signature, marking the inside of my pieces.

This was also the year I found my rhythm at markets. Real customers, real feedback, real work. Repairing and rebuilding worn belts, creating pieces meant to last longer than what they replaced.

Pueblo leather became my main medium. It was reliable, expressive, and forgiving. I expanded into watch straps, custom work, and more complex builds. My tools evolved too, with Sinabroks chisels and a Barry King maul becoming staples at my bench.

I explored new techniques, including double-color stitching and what I now call the overcross stitch. Larger projects followed, including journal covers and production runs for local fairs.

This year shaped more than my craft. It shaped me.
